About the Novena

We will be meditating on the fifteen promises given to St. Dominic and Blessed Alan de la Roche by Our Lady – fifteen promises to those who pray the most holy Rosary.

The Rosary is such a powerful weapon because it incorporates prayers from the Bible (the Our Father, the Hail Mary), vocal prayer, meditative prayer, and contemplative prayer. The Rosary can incorporate the sense of sight by looking at a crucifix or an image of Mary, our sense of touch by holding a Rosary, and our sense hearing by hearing these beautiful prayers.

Jesus, through His Mother, promises us heaven if we pray the Rosary. What a great promise! Oftentimes people make promises and they break them. Jesus always keeps His promise, as does His Mother Mary. She promises us fifteen beautiful things if we pray the Rosary.

We find ourselves at a critical point in the history of the Church, and prayer is needed now more than ever. Leading up to the Pan-Amazon Synod we will be praying this Novena to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary.

It is important for us to pray, now more than ever, that the peace of Jesus Christ will reign in people’s hearts; that His truth will come into our minds and to help us live the Gospel. As the Pan-Amazonian Synod begins October 6, let us pray for the Holy Spirit to guide the Church and the world into the fullness of truth and mercy.

The world needs well-formed priests now more than ever.

St. Michael's Abbey has an overflowing seminary, and we need your help. With nearly forty seminarians, and three who had to be waitlisted this year due to lack of space, the Abbot's Circle supports these men on their courageous journey to the priesthood and beyond.

As a thank you to the generous souls supporting the life-changing ministries of St. Michael’s Abbey, we’ve created the Abbot’s Circle Digital Library, which offers groundbreaking content, like the upcoming “After the Upper Room” series.
